Navjot Singh Sidhu was born on 20th October 1963 in Patiala Punjab, India to father, Sardar Bhagwant Singh Sidhu who was also a cricket player. He went on to attend HR College of Commerce and Economics. His father desperately wanted him to become a top class cricketer.
Career and path
Sidhu began by playing for his domestic team, Punjab in 1981. He played for Punjab till 2000. Soon, Sidhu made his International cricter debut in 1983. Sidhu made his test debut on 12th November 1983 against West Indies. Sidhu made his ODI debut in 9th October 1987 against Australia. His last test match was in 1999 against New Zealand and his last ODI was in 1998 against Pakistan.
Sidhu went on to begin his commentator career in 2001 and the term Sidhuism was developed after his one-liners. He has worked for ESPN-Star, Ten Sports as a cricket analyst. Sidhu has been seen in TV shows like The Great Indian Laughter Challenge, Kareena Kareena, Bigg Boss 6, Comedy Nights with Kapil, The Kapil Sharma Show and more. He was elected in the Lok Sabhan as a member of the Bharatiya Janta party from Amritsar in 2004. He maintained his position till 2014.
Navjot Singh Sidhu is a married man and has a family. He is married to his wife, Navjot Kaur Sidhu. His wife is a doctor and also an active member in Punjab Legislative Assembly. She has been associated to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Together, the couple has a son named Karan and a daughter named Rabia.
