Lee Iacocca is an American businessman and automobile executive. He is well known for the development of Ford Mustang and Pinto cars. He is the former CEO and president of Chrysler and former President of Ford. His birth name is Lido Anthony Iacocca. He belongs to white ethnicity and is of American nationality.

Iacocca was born on 15th October 1924 in Allentown, Pennsylvania, United States of America. He is the son of Antoinette Perretta and Nicola Iacocca. His father was a businessman who is the owner of a theatre and a car rental agency. He learned the skills of running car business from his father. His parents were immigrant from Italy who ran a restaurant. He did his high school education from Allentown High School. After that, he got enrolled at Lehigh University and completed his degree majoring in industrial engineering. He was also successful to win the Wallace Memorial Fellowship to study at the Princeton University majoring in politics and plastics.
He began his profession as an engineer in the Ford Motor Company in the year 1946. But later he moved to the department of sales and marketing. He also worked as the assistant sales manager in the Philadelphia district. He launched the 56 for 56 campaign offering loans and down payment options on models of the 1956 year cars. In 1960, he was called as the vice president of Ford’s car and truck group. He was the master mind behind the designing of the Ford Mustang which was launched in the year 1964. Then, he became the president of the Ford Corporation in 1970. While working with Ford, the company grew massively and he was the part of the development of some popular Ford cars like Ford Escort and the Lincoln Continental Mark III. But unfortunately there was a severe design flaw in Ford Pinto and eventually, he was fired in 1978. Later, he took over at Chrysler. As she started to become popular, he was featured in numerous commercials for various companies. After the year 1992, he became retired as the president, CEO, and chairman of Chrysler. In the year 1985, he was awarded with the S. Roger Horchow Award for Greatest Public Service by a Private Citizen.
