Margaret Jane Pauley AKA Jane Pauley was born on 31st October 1950 in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States of America. She was born on the Halloween day and is the second child of Richard and Mary Pauley. She attended Warren Central High school in Indianapolis and graduated in the year 1968. She was a speech and debate champion during her high schooling. Then she joined Indiana University for her graduation majoring in political science. She was a member of collegiate sorority Kappa Kappa Gamma where she sang with the sorority jug band, The Kappa Pickers.
By profession, Pauley is a journalist, television host and news reporter and anchor. As soon as, she completed her graduation, she began working in CBS affiliate WISH TV as a reporter in 1972. After three years, she moved to WMAQ TV and became the first woman co-anchor in the major evening newscast. From the year 1976 to 1989, she was a co-host in the Today show. She also anchored the Sunday edition of NBC Nightly News from 1980 to 1982. Later, she was hired by Dateline NBC as a co-anchor from 1992 to 2003. In 2004, she started working as a host of The Jane Pauley Show. In March 2009, she returned back to the Today show as a contributor hosting a weekly segment Your Life Calling. It was an award winning series culminated in Pauley’s second New York Times best seller, Your Life Calling: Reimagining the Rest of Your Life. Since April 2014, she is working in CBS as a correspondent and occasional substitute host in the beginning and as an anchor of CBS Sunday Morning at the present.
